I've always loved all things handmade and I've always wanted to be one of those women who knows how to do the things that our grandparents did every day but now seems to have been lost in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. That first batch of soap changed my life.
I decided that I wanted to hand make gifts for Christmas. I don't know why it was important that year but I really felt called to put a piece of myself in the gifts that were going to people who were so important to me. I just knew that an Amazon gift card was not going to cut it.
I was thumbing through the Mother Earth News website and came across an easy basic soap recipe. Lard, lye, and water. That was it. Of course, there were the proper amounts, the warnings of being careful, but, all in all, it was very simple. That's when I knew this was going to be what I wanted to do.
Now I mix, mold, experiment, gleefully dance, and jump for joy over every batch. Every single batch is made with love, mindfulness, and hours of research. I want to know what every ingredient is going to offer my soap. I want each ingredient to nourish the user both physically and mentally. I want you to know that I think my soap is art, not just a commodity and I want you to love my soap as much as I enjoy making it.
With only the very best of regards,
The Prepping Princess
